Capturing the Alpine A110: A Campaign in Provence | Hertz

High-end automotive campaigns require more than beautiful landscapes — they demand logistical precision, intimate knowledge of terrain, and the ability to unlock locations others can't access. In 2019, FAB FIXERS coordinated production on a Hertz campaign launching the new Renault Alpine A110 in the South of France.

The Pitch: Showcasing the Alpine A110 Against Provence's Most Dramatic Landscapes

Hertz wanted to position the new Renault Alpine A110 as a vehicle worthy of France's most iconic driving roads. The creative vision required sweeping aerial shots, winding mountain passes, and the golden light of Provence's lavender fields — all within a tight production timeline.

FAB FIXERS was brought on to secure access to protected locations, coordinate permits across multiple municipalities, and book food venues across six cities.

Unlocking Protected Locations

The production required filming in three of Provence's most restricted and sought-after locations: the lavender fields of Valensole, the dramatic gorges of Parc Naturel du Verdon, and winding mountain roads subject to strict traffic control.

Each location presented unique challenges. Valensole's lavender fields are privately owned farmland with limited filming windows. The Verdon Natural Park operates under strict environmental protection regulations. Mountain roads required coordination with local authorities to manage traffic safely during high-speed driving sequences.

Virgile secured all necessary permits and authorizations from local municipalities, private landowners, and park authorities — ensuring the production could capture the Alpine in some of France's most spectacular landscapes without delay or compromise.

Specialized Crew

Automotive campaigns require technical precision and experience with fast-moving vehicles. The production hired a specialized drone operator with extensive automotive production experience, ensuring smooth tracking shots and dynamic aerial sequences that showcased the Alpine’s performance on Provence’s winding roads.

The drone team operated a DJI Inspire 2 X7, chosen specifically for its ability to capture high-speed vehicle movement with cinematic quality. .

The production also required a professional runner and driver familiar with the region's roads — both to support logistics and to ensure safety during high-speed sequences on public and private routes.

The Right Setup for Automotive Excellence

The package included the DJI Inspire 2 X7 for aerials, professional lighting for static vehicle shots, grip equipment for dynamic sequences, and walkie-talkies for crew coordination across multiple filming locations.

What was planned as a three-day shoot captured everything the client envisioned: the Alpine A110 gliding through lavender fields at golden hour, carving through the Verdon's dramatic gorges, and commanding Provence's mountain passes with elegance and power.

The result is a campaign that positions the Alpine A110 not just as a vehicle, but as an experience
